Ryan Lalisang became the first Indonesian bowler to compete in the Masters following an excellent 2007 which saw him finish second on the ABF Asian Rankings, a single point behind Jason Belmonte.
The 27-year-old from Jakarta replaced Wu Siu Hong of Hong Kong, who has withdrawn due to national training squad duties in Hong Kong. Lalisang has racked up some impressive achievements of late including a gold in the Men's Singles gold medal at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha as well as further gold in the SEA Games in Thailand last year.
Other recent victories for the right-hander included the 4th Kuwait Open last year which carried a $25,000 top prize. The Indonesian will face a tricky first round match against an in-form Kirsten Penny of England, who won the 7th Qatar International Open crown this year. |
